Telehealth FAQ

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is another way we can connect, if we cannot do face to face counseling, It is Counseling by way of video. We can see each other and talk, just as we normally would do.

Is Telehealth Private?

Telehealth is private and secure. We use a HIPPA compliant software. No one will have access to your Telehealth session.

Does Telehealth cost more?

No, it does not cost more. On the contrary it is actually cheaper than a face to face session.

How do I login to a Telehealth Video session?

The night before the appointment, you will be emailed a specific link to click on to start the session. When you are ready to login to the appointment, just click on the link in the email and the video will start.

What do I do before the Telehealth appointment?

Make sure you login to the appointment 5-10 minutes early to make sure you have a good connection and to get familiar with the software program. Make sure you are in a private room and all distractions are put away. Like turn off the TV, turn your cell phone to silent and put away the tablet.

What can I expect out of the Telehealth session?

A Telehealth video session is just like a face to face session, but it’s on video!. We will be discussing and going over what is bothering you and I will be able to give you coping tools, just as I would from a face to face session.

What happens if the video freezes or I cannot hear you?

Don’t worry, if this happens we will close out the session and log back in again. If that doesn’t fix the problem, I will call you on the phone and we can finish the session that way.

Is there anything else I should know?

I think that covers it. Telehealth is a safe and convenient way for me to have a session with you, without you having to come to the practice. Don’t worry once we start a session you will feel better about it. It’s easy to do!
