What Is Psycho-Education?

The term “psycho-education” encompasses a broad range of topics and activities, specifically tailored to the educational information you are seeking. Psycho-education is an evidenced-based approach that combines mental health therapy, empowerment, and education to help you better understand and cope with your diagnosis and symptoms.

Psycho-education is not confined to mental health services only. Doctors often provide you with education and important information about your illnesses and symptoms.

Psycho-education is a significant part of the therapeutic process you are seeking or participating in presently. It is a lifelong process of growth, wisdom, experience, and discovery. Our brain and body thrives when we open our minds and explore new possibilities, opportunities, and educational experiences.

It is impossible to know everything about everything. It is possible to accept new information, strengthen the skills you possess, and develop new ones.

Did you know that 45% of your life is spent listening?  Remembering and retaining what you learn is only half of that. “Why?” You ask. Unfortunately, many people are not paying enough attention and really hearing the content of the information that’s being provided.

Listening, hearing and implementing the wisdom you gain is a crucial step in your treatment and recovery process. Change and achievements do not suddenly or immediately happen, especially if you continue to stand in one place and stay where you are.

Know This: “Some people will not hear you regardless of how much, how loud, how truthful, how loving, or how profound you speak. Wish them well and let them go”.

Cassie Icenogle-Konnoly at Krave Lyfe! Mental Health Counseling will attentively listen to you and help you seek the knowledge you are searching for. She will teach you healthy, effective skills to cope with your concerns, and provide you with the psycho-education you are needing to improve and change your quality of life and overall well-being.

“If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you”.
